Experiencing the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament while staying at Starfish Cottage
RBC Heritage Golf Tournament
Wouldn't it be wonderful to attend a PGA golf tournament in a beautiful resort location and not have to deal with remote parking, crowded shuttles, long lines at the food concessions, etc.?  Well, now you can.

Stay at Starfish Cottage and you can easily walk right onto the Harbour Town Links golf course at the place where holes 2, 3, 6 and 7 all come together.  That very popular viewing spot is the location of several sets of observation bleachers and a major concession stand.  Best of all, it is only a three-minute walk from the cottage.  See the image below for the path through the woods.

This path is an authorized entrance.  As long as you have your ticket displayed the tournament marshalls will wave you right in.

Best of all, you will be staying close enough that you can go "home" for lunch or a break and go back and catch the action later in the day.

RBC Heritage Golf Tournament
Monday's and Wednesday's pro-ams are wonderful spectator experiences.  Cameras are encouraged, autographs dispensed, and the pros engage the fans in conversations.
The photo to the right shows Jason Dufner, during a wait on the 9th tee, taking a break.  Matt Kuchar (off camera) told the crowd that this particular technique is known on the tour as "Dufnering".

One of the best venues at the RBC Heritage is on the bleachers at the 8th green.  This long par-4 dogleg left has been dealing out heartbreak to the players each year since the tournament began.  Any ball reaching the green in two is cause for standing ovations.  Watching the best players in the world scramble for par on this beautiful and treacherous hole is great golf entertainment.
